Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
All appliances such as fridges, microwaves, kettles, washing machines, tumble dryers and the like that are provided are required to be safe as part of the tenancy agreement. We suggest that you have these appliances tested at the beginning of each tenancy agreement or yearly for domestic premises should your tenants be there for long periods of time.
Electric shocks that are caused by faulty leads, plugs and appliances can be avoided by following simple safety steps.
For commercial and industrial premises, PAT certificates may be issued for 3 or 6 months depending on the environmental conditions of the premises, the engineer will decide. Please, bear this in mind.
Appliances must be made accessible, not behind panels or built in units and so forth. We cannot take any responsibility for moving appliances or if any items get broken when being moved or decor gets damaged as a result of appliances (plugs) not being accessible. Please, bear this in mind.
We strongly encourage you to write a list of items that you would like tested as customers sometimes forget what items they want tested. Failure to inform the engineer of the items may lead to another call out at an additional charge.
