In January 2005 the Government introduced electrical safety rules for dwellings into the Building Regulations for England and Wales.
What does Part P mean?
Most electrical works carried out on a domestic /commercial property needs to be proven that it is safe. This can only be achieved through either Part P inspection and test or by Minor Work Certification carried out by an approved Part P contractor.
Who is responsible for making sure that electrical work meets Part P standards?
By law, all homeowners and landlords must be able to prove that the electrical installation system meets Part P standards.
We advise and recommend that you use a Part P registered electrician for your own safety and peace of mind.
Sometimes under inspections, we have to remove spotlights, lights, socket outlets and the like that have not been undone or moved in a while. This sometimes may cause paint to be chipped around the electrical outlets.
We simply do not give out certifications just for the sake of giving them out. We will only give a Safety Certification once it passes. Fail or pass, we have to charge the agreed price.
If you have booked us for a job and need to cancel, we will require sufficient notice as it is more than likely that we have turned other customers a way to honour your booking. If you need to cancel a job 24 hours beforehand please call us, as we are on the road or working most of the time and will not be able to check emails at such a short notice. However, if materials were ordered for your specific task or labour, we will have to charge for such materials/labour. Failure to provide us with sufficient notice will result in a charge.
If you book a job with us and wish to cancel 48 hours beforehand, you may call or email us. However, if any materials have been ordered for your job, a charge will be incurred. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in a charge.
